Against strong winds, Sodam drives a Honda Chaly 50cc in Seoul – pictures by Guno Lee
Guno Lee’s photography has been my inspiration since I started visiting the South Korean capital four years ago. Under the artistic name THE RACCOON, Lee has captured an effervescent youth who constantly attempts to destroy those local and conservative cannons. Teaching us more about individual behaviors (where fashion definitely performs), we simultaneously sense through his photos how eager those revolutionary kids are on appropriating international style. Guno is one of those photographers who sit’s on the floor at the end of the runway guarding his camera, he is also the disciplined guy who greets you on a tiny stair when trying to enter a hot nightclub, Guno is everywhere.
Distinguishing Chanel, Celine or Comme des Garçons shoulder bags at 3am, day or night both lights provoke this young Seoul based photographer. My idyllic pictures are the ones with his sister Sodam, driving her automatic Honda that is suitable for wet hilly streets and glamorous journeys.
