Digital Paris: ILLUSAITS is Ziggy Chen’s FW2022

‘What is man’s relationship with the surrounding world? In a moment of estrangement, when the world tightens around us and relationships are intertwined thanks to technology, Ziggy Chen pauses to reflect on this time, giving rise to the new graphics for fall-winter 2022.

ILLUSAITS is the name of new collection: a crasis of Illusion and Portraits, telling us of a reality filtered by a dreamlike state of consciousness. The dichotomy, dear to the designer, investigates dream and reality, fantasy and objective world, rational and irrational, past (present) and future. The fleetingness of dream reflects in the continuously fluctuating graphics of contiguous waves, to have wearer’s sense like crossing a lucid dream.

Ziggy Chen continues to push the limits of natural fibers by combining traditional, weaving techniques with forward-thinking dyeing and post-treatment methods.

The focus of the collection is variations on the two-piece jackets, patchwork of different materials, and long coats with asymmetrical structure. The hidden graphic of ILLUSAITS small doll-shaped icon embellishes the interiors of the cools, trousers and outerwear. Genuine leather accessories tanned and crafted in Italy – shoes and bags – and eyewear in collaboration with Rigards accompany the collection.

An intimate and exploratory collection that lays the foundations of a new direction in the future.’
