Today, restaurant San Prudencio in Getaria(SP) serves Menú BALENCIAGA – Text by OG
Getaria offers Alta Cocina Vasca and many restaurants a supply of vast fish varieties as well as giving this small village an international reputation. After visiting the area twice, I am able to choose and follow my own palate: San Prudencio. Within a five-minute ride, arriving is almost coming home. Señora Maria Jesus has prepared a special menu for today. I expect something heavy and overdone, but serving simple dishes are their specialty.
Before choosing my table, she introduces me to her own harvest: – we make everything in here, we even produce our own wine (Txakoli). More than once I was checked for having eaten everything. I was surely enjoying local flavors combined with music. As one guest advised me when entering the terrace: – close your eyes and listen. Birds from the hill, a non-stop orchestra sometimes accompanied with the near by sea. Delicioso.
