CLAES IVERSEN’s “flying debris” for SS2013
Amsterdam Fashion Week started with a proper show audience, with hints of luxury from Claes Iversen spring-summer 2013. Iversen’s show-salon effect was given by a set of hanging mirrors, reflecting those high refine prêt-a-porter pieces (60’s flair pants) when not semi-couture given by robust shoulders. Details form previous collections were subtly inserted, giving more strength to Iversen’s recognizing signature. Flowery and floral (even on a black dress as an oversized corsage) trimmed almost the entire collection, with adjustable silver waste belts. A dreamy symphony combined with the garment’s graphic effect, brought us into romance, discrepancies in between shinnies and mates, until the first long dress in yellow made us believe in a promising season. My favorite, a printed jumpsuit and its turquoise rib collar holding decency with a touch of lavender.
