When you came into the show venue, Mrs.Anne-Grethe Filtenborg (Fashion Director) would thank you for joining the evening. Charming enough for a family who does not relate to arrogance, instead to a very sweet moment where Mr. Martin Butler guided all seven graduated students. In the end, it was all pretty and minimal, a white box but full of desire!
This prestigious Amsterdam based institution seems to have big plans. Its Fashion Department has found the way to expose their talent in a democratic way: a show in the city center and a bit away from the school aula. Fashion is a difficult discipline, it moves and so is Rietveld doing. Let’s say a bit of “metropolitan” was on the air. The school has been always a creative laboratory where artists have found the freedom combined with the lifestyle Amsterdam offers. And there is the result-strength we all saw: room for individuals combined with a bit of nonsense, but beautiful.
