IRIS VAN HERPEN’s solo show at Groninger Museum (NL) will be haute engineering
Iris van Herpen’s (Wamel-NL, 1984) first exhibition in the city of Groningen promises to undress the work of the consolidated fashion artist, for both national and international public. If a wide-wild river is Van Herpen’s obsessive creative road, she is now ready to share her rapid and successful experience through all affluent channels.
So does the museum, including her first book where all meticulous and perfectionist techniques will be compiled next to her best pieces in a moment of recognition. The Dutch couturier has not only reached an impressive clientele including Lady Gaga and Björk, she has also confronted big couture houses in Paris with her modern approach towards tomorrow’s materials and constructions. Creator of the uncreated, Van Herpen keeps drawing the future using superb fabrics treated under a fetishist handwork; a true inventor with great artistry.
