Paris SS2013: RAF SIMONS under a male tropical cyclone
Without loosing their affinity to tailoring, Raf Simons males seemed to have gone under a pleasant tropical storm. When the complicated climate demands ventilated garments for the summer consumers, looking gorgeous is guaranteed. Shorts with only one side split combined with light blazers represented that comfort. The classic coat was also treated in a particular way; the double breast had a clean frontal look with a floral pleated back inserted like a summer 50’s ‘grunge’ dress. A favorite was the suit with extra long pants, falling on top of the high-tech multicolored runners. Wet hair, balancing pleats, open crunchy shorts and the light sneakers, it must have been Brian Calvin’s Californian sun which inspired the designer (a printed tank top worked as “Killer 2006” canvas). Raf’s was hot, even the show venue felt humid.
