SONOMORPHIC MIRROR, the earing of SHOWstudio’s latest video project “splash”
Water. SHOWstudio. More water, and a Dutch born water engineer (or expertise); in this case: Iris van Herpen. Documenting the fashion designer’s project in collaboration with Nick Knight and Daphne Guinness for The Home of Fashion Film, was left to Amsterdam based Geoffrey Lillemon (digital artist) and Salvador Breed (sound).
Certainly this frontal coalition of talents, and stronger than the bravest ocean’s currents, brought dark and crystallized waters to emotionally behave around Guinness’s naked corpus. The splashing romance often captured recognizable couture forms, others oval portraits of unique formulas seemed to come out of a laboratory. For six intensive days, London’s studio must have been under inundation, or breaking waves hitting or caressing; but finally transformed into vibrant energy. All stunning: water in motion searching for self-formation, different crests, water lace, or just devoured by liquid.
