Tokyo FW2012: PHENOMENON’s winter stave
I remember once meeting Hong Kong’s JOYCE buyer Michael Mok somewhere in Seoul sitting front row. He couldn’t stop mentioning his recent discovery-debut collection coming from Tokyo – PHENOMENON. That was October 2010, and since then designer Takeshi Osumi has found a fashion road dedicated to an ascending youth. Like most Tokyo designers, the street shapes hold a lousy-colorful elegance, brining it into the edge of reciting classical music. Though his pitches roots are in jazz, funk, and soul. The garments are styled by overlapping short sleeve sweaters on top of a blazer while wearing fantasy knitted pants underneath a quilted short. It is indeed a revolution from a boring perspective, but not for those traveling into town holding a camouflage clutch.
